Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.

Non-virgins are “defiled”: When a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a bill of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house . . . then her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after she has been defiled.
Have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two?
How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
Son of man, when the people of Israel were living in their own land, they defiled it by their conduct and their actions. Their conduct was like a woman’s monthly uncleanness in my sight.
Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble. . . . Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean?
Jerusalem hath grievously sinned . . . Her filthiness is in her skirts.
